Mitre cut

The most recognizable feature of Aptumit lamp is the 45 degrees cut through the outer sleeve that divides the lamp body in two distinctive sections: main body and mid section. Now with proper engineering the mid section rotates independently along a common axis.

Natural stone base

CNC cut and polished stone – granite, limestone, marble or any other, makes a perfect  base that ensures lamp stability and its distinctive aesthetics.

Beam direction control

The reflector operates in two main modes – spot and desk. In spot mode the reflector is stowed away, allowing for straight upward light beam dissipated at the top. In desk mode, the reflector directs the beam anywhere from 20 to 90 degrees vertically. The rotating head adds 180 degrees of freedom along the vertical axis.

Helical wooden veneer tube

made from helically cross wrapped wooden veneer and paper stripes. Sandwiched in this way the tube walls are stiff enough yet translucent. When lit from within, the tubes radiate warm natural light filtered through the wooden pattern.

Convex parabolic reflector

The convex reflector redirects the main light beam and disperses it for comfortable reading light environment. Its suspension allows full controll through rotating segment at the top of the lamp.

Variable pitch helix

The moving mid section follows a variable pitch helical trajectory while maintaining equidistant gap with the main body all along its way. A dedicated low friction suspension guarantees free but tight movement.

Textile cable

Selection of different textile cables (2 X 0.75 mm2). Variety of available choices from natural and synthetic fibres in different colours.

Natural look and feel

All surfaces are mechanically finished – no penetrating agents used.

Veneer sleeve for the switch

On / off switch with optional wooden veneer sleeve. Typically made from the same veneer as the main body, yet a matter of choice and aestethic taste.
